Confetti cake smashes continue to be one of my most requested first birthday themes, and it’s easy to see why. They’re bright, classic, and feel like the perfect way to celebrate turning ONE. The colors, the sprinkles, the excitement, it’s everything a birthday should be.
This little guy came ready to party. He had the biggest personality and the sweetest smile, and he wasted no time digging into his cake. Watching a one-year-old experience frosting for the first time is always one of my favorite parts of these sessions.
Big brother even jumped in for a few photos, which made the session extra special. I always love when siblings join for a moment, it captures such a fun piece of their relationship at this stage. Those little interactions between them are the kinds of memories parents will treasure forever.
And of course, no cake smash is complete without the bubble bath cleanup at the end. Not only is it practical (because frosting gets everywhere!), but it’s also one of the cutest parts of the session. The splashes, the giggles, and those tiny toes in the tub make for the sweetest images to finish off a first birthday gallery.
Cake smash sessions are such a fun way to celebrate this milestone. Turning one is a big deal, and capturing the joy, curiosity, and personality of this age is something families will always look back on.
