What's a Cake Smash Session?
Only the best way to celebrate your child's first birthday!!!! During a cake smash session, your baby is placed in front of a cake and encouraged to, smash, explore and eat the cake. The messy playful moments and emotions are photographed. One year olds have so much personality and capturing the candids of it all is a great way to remember this stage. I’ve had babies absolutely demolish there cake, some that refuse to touch it at all (don’t worry, I have tricks up my sleeve for that). Some smash their face in it, stomp on it with their feet. I had babies hug and snuggle their cake, put it on their head, and refuse to touch it at all. You never know what you’re going to get, but every single one of these sessions has its own story to tell and in turn gives you a story to tell them when they're older! We play peekaboo, sing, or dance to get those smiles while playing in cake. These sessions are just fun, and I rarely leave a session that I haven't laughed so hard at my stomach hurts at the end.
When should I book my session?
If you want images for your baby's first birthday/party, I recommend booking 3-4 weeks prior to that date. If you don't need the images for a specific date, you can book anytime around their birthday!
The Details
Cake smash sessions take place in my studio in Leverett, MA. All my smash sessions include setup, cake to match theme, all digital images from your cake smash and studio clean up. Smash outfits are available in the client closet to use during your session or you may bring your own.

Cupcake Smash Session
This is a new option I'm trying out! Love the fun of a cake smash but looking simple sweeter alternative this is the perfect choice! This mini session will offer the joy and adorable moments of a traditional cake smash, but with a single cupcake on a white backdrop or choose a background from choices below. Simple and all about baby!

The Bakery
I'm excited to be partnered up with Care Free Cakery in Amherst MA to provide beautifully crafted cakes for my photo sessions Their cakes are made with high-quality ingredients ensuring a perfectly yummy centerpiece for your little one's birthday shoot.
THE CAKE: Cakes are made to match the theme chosen. A vanilla cake is made and decorated with buttercream frosting.
FAQ
How many pictures will we receive?
All of them! These sessions are so unique and fun I just can't make you choose which ones to keep.
What if my child has food allergies?
The cakes are made in a nut free/soy free bakery. Gluten free and vegan cakes are an add on option.
Can I reschedule?
If you reschedule 48 hours prior to your session, the date/time can be moved. Within 48 hours a $50 rescheduling fee will be added to cover the cost of another cake.
What if my baby doesn't like the cake?
They won't be the first! Some dive right in while others are hesitant. Don't worry, I have tricks up my sleeve. I do ask you bring an alternate snack like yogurt melts or puffs.
What should my baby wear?
You will have access to neutral wardrobe options in studio. Many choose to bring their own cute little outfits. I recommend rompers, overalls, shorts or tutus.
Is cleanup included?
YES! I provide tips and towels for a quick cleanup after your session. I also offer a bubble bath option which is not only fun, but gets baby nice and clean before heading home.
