When's the best time for a newborn session?
Newborns are typically photographed between 7-21 days after birth. During this time your baby is still sleepy and doesn't mind being squished into those poses we all love. With that being said, just because your baby is 2 months old doesn't mean you can't have newborn images. These images will most likely be less squishy, more awake baby that's curious of it's surroundings. You may prefer that! No matter what your baby's age, I will provide you with beautiful, timeless images!

FAQ
When Should I schedule my newborn Session?
You can book your session with me anytime. I do recommend scheduling before your baby is born to make sure I have time in my schedule. You do NOT need to know exactly when your baby will arrive in order to secure your spot in my calendar. If you are unsure about booking or want to wait until baby is born, that's okay too. I leave room to squeeze a baby or two in.
How do we schedule if the baby isn't born yet?
I get this one all the time. When you book I hold your spot on my calendar knowing that baby comes on their own terms. You do NOT need to know exactly when your baby will arrive, so your session is reserved with your due date and then confirmed with an official session date once baby arrives.
What happens if baby won't sleep?
Every know and then I get a baby that just doesn't want to miss a thing. That's okay! As long as baby is happy we keep going. If your baby is unsettled, we figure out what baby needs. If baby needs snuggles, we snuggle, if baby needs movement, we move. We'll figure it out. They usually fall asleep at some point, but until then, that eye contact is ADORABLE!
What if baby has to spend time in the NICU?
First of all, big hugs. NICU life is hard, Ive been there. My daughter was born at 29 weeks and we spent months there. I fully understand how scary and unpredictable this time is. What I want you to do is; rest as best as you can and just love that baby. When you're home and settled we will schedule the date of your session.
What if my baby hates being wrapped?
Many new parents think this, but in all my years wrapping baby's as a photographer and as a labor and delivery nurse, I have yet to meet a baby that doesn't like it. Your baby may not like the process of being wrapped, but being wrapped correctly is incredibly comforting for your baby. They feel warm and secure like in the womb and it lessons the impact of the moro (startle) reflex. This process is important to make them feel safe and drift off to sleep.
Where is your studio located?

Still Expecting your little one?
Studio Maternity Session
Studio maternity sessions are a great way to capture your pregnancy. These are a bit more intimate and private especially for those wanting to show some skin. You could also come in ripped jeans and a t-shirt, that's up to you. The studio offers a changing area with a selection of gowns, robes, fabric and bodysuits to use during your session. I recommend scheduling your session when you are between 28-34 weeks, but. ultimately it's up to you and when you feel most comfortable. Pregnancy can be tough on some, and you may not feel like having images taken, but you will leave feeling like a goddess!
